Tottenham are among four teams tracking Atletico Madrid centre back Jose Gimenez, according to TMW.
The Italian site believe Juventus will be fighting with us, Arsenal and Manchester United to sign the Uruguayan in the summer.
With Toby seemingly on the way out of the club, attention will soon be drawn to who will replace the Belgian. A number of names such as Benjamin Pavard and Jonathan Tah have been suggested but the Atletico star hasn’t been mentioned as a possible candidate.
The defender is being tipped to leave Spain in the summer. At 23 years of age, and experience of playing in the Champions League, he does look like a good fit for the club.
However, the player reportedly has a ?60m release clause, which could prove a major stumbling block. It would mean having to break our transfer record once again following Sanchez’s arrival last summer.
The 23 year old is currently a regular for Atletico, but he has struggled for game time under Diego Simeone in the last two seasons, with 15 league starts this season, and just 12 last term.
