Tottenham youngsters, Ryan Mason, Steven Caulker, Adam Smith and Dean Parrett have been called up for England`s Under-19 squad for the first qualifying stage of the European Championships in Slovenia.

With Dean Parrett, just signed for Aldershot, all four players are currently playing in either league one or two, with Mason in particular getting rave reviews. Both Smith and Caulker are playing the majority of games for Wycombe and Yeovil respectively, whilst, Mason has looked a class above with his all round game.

England face Finland, Slovenia and Slovakia, between the 9th and 14th of October, in what will be another learning curve for our boys. Another Spurs player who has recently represented England at this level is Andros Townsend, but he has been excluded on this occasion, although I am not yet sure whether this is due to form, fitness or other issues.

The four selected for the under 19s join two others, in Danny Rose and Jon Obika, who have been selected for the U-20 World Cup in Egypt, from the 24th Sept to the 16th Oct.
