Now, to try and get away from the endless talk of ‘who’s coming in’ and ‘who’s going out’ I think we need to delve into the world of reality for second and just think about a few items which are much more closer to home.

Firstly, with the summer holidays in full swing and pre-season approaching fast, I for one, would certainly like to be updated on the fitness of two of Spurs’ most important players knowingly Ledley King & Gareth Bale.

Ever Since it was released (about 7/8 games prior to the end of the season) that Ledley King would play no further part and nor would Gareth Bale be rushed back to fitness, reports on their progress have been non-existent.

Does anyone know their current status?

Or are you guys just as in the dark as me and left wondering or more honestly, hoping that the two would have made a full recovery and plan on having a full pre-season and are ready for the off come ‘Boro away?!

Now, my second point may have been touched on before, but I feel now, being a vital part of the forthcoming season certainly gives it a strong need for further discussion.

The question is thus: Who at Spurs, can be classed as a true leader and take the captains role in the absence of Ledley King?

My candidate is Jonathan Woodgate. Since he joined Spurs he’s been magnificent and not to mention injury free. Maybe a few little niggles, but by his standards it’s nothing. He has European & international experience; he leads by example and is in the ideal position for a captain.

Robbie Keane has done wonders and his energy & enthusiasm deserve special credit, but I personally don’t think he’s the dynamic captain that we so strongly desire.

So, to gain a perspective from fellow spurs fans alike, I pose the above points for your expert consideration & comment!
