Spurs fans react to Kane’s announcement on his future

|

Harry Kane today made an official announcement to inform fans that he will definitely be staying at Spurs past this Summer and he will give his all for the club.

The striker had been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, but after the Premier League champions failed to put in an acceptable offer or even a bid to encourage Chairman Daniel Levy to sit at the table and negotiate, a move for Kane began to look more and more unlikely as the transfer deadline day loomed closer.

Following his appearance for the team on Sunday during the win away at Wolves, the striker was reportedly touched by the warm reception he received from the fans and is now looking to do whatever he can to help the team towards winning trophies.

His statement read: “It was incredible to see the reception from the Spurs fans on Sunday and to read some of the messages of support I’ve had in the last few weeks.Ā I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success. #COYS!”

Rapper and lifelong Spurs fan AJ Tracey wrote in response: “We love you H! Thank you for this message it means a lot to all of us. I hope the higher ups back you properly – best striker in the world!”

Charlie Parrish also expressed his happiness at the news, saying: “Letā€™s win us that trophy now, H! We all just want to see you lift something with Spurs so badly, and you know we all love you.”

Journalist Mitch Fretton replied to Kane’s tweet, taking a dig at news outlets pushing the speculation, writing: “My thoughts go out to every media outlet at this time, Iā€™ve no idea what they will report on now!”

Some fans believe that City’s failed pursuit of Kane should be celebrated by all Premier League clubs, with one fan saying: “Whatever you think, this is a win for football. City canā€™t just throw their weight about and have what they want, when they want.”

However, there are some who believe that the wording of the tweet suggests Kane will once again try and push for the transfer next season or even in January, with one pointing out: “This shouldā€™ve been done in two separate tweets. ā€œthanks for the being nice n all, but you know i wanna leave however canā€™t do that so now iā€™m stuck for THIS SUMMER.ā€ pathetic tweet icl [I can’t lie]”

Either way, the news is a huge boost for Spurs fans and players as our star man will play for the badge for at least one more season – and we won’t be in complete disarray by the end of the transfer window.
