Spurs Can Put The Cherry On Top For Christmas – Match Thread

|

I’m sure Boxing Day has a real reason behind it and purpose, but I can’t be alone in thinking it exists purely for football and the fixture list for 2018 gives Tottenham Hotspur a home (cough) tie against Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side.

Fresh from Sunday’s absolute hammering of Everton at Goodison Park, it’s another quick turnaround in the fixtures but a 6-2 win would’ve left all the players buzzing after that performance and they’ll be hoping for a repeat at Wembley to secure another three points in the season.

On top of the known about injury issues we have at the club, there remains a doubt over Dele Alli following his substitution but manager Mauricio Pochettino has said he’s hoping he’s fine and the substitution was precautionary – so we’ll have to hope that’s true and he’s not out for a sustained period of time.

Six points separate us from Liverpool in top spot and Pochettino remained coy about a title challenge following the Everton win as he manages expectations and although Bournemouth will be tough as they are sat in eighth place themselves, obviously if we are at our best, there’s every reason for confidence as we go in search of five wins on the spin.

Until 3pm ticks around, have fun folks!
