Sissoko Reveals Simple Secret For Uplift In Form For Spurs

|

Tottenham Hotspur’s capture of midfielder Moussa Sissoko back on deadline day 2016 from Newcastle United for a massive £30million as reported, didn’t initially go that well.

Spurs fans questioned his form and suitability to the side initially and although he was getting plenty of game time, he struggled to adapt and had plenty of high points and low points.

This season, however, the 29-year-old Frenchman has certainly more hit the ground running and he’s come in for some very high praise indeed and we are undoubtedly seeing the best of him again now and he’s a key fixture in the side for manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Speaking recently to Sky Sports Sissoko explained that he now feels at home in the central midfield position (despite being more known as a wider attacking player) and with the support of those at the club, he has taken greater confidence from overcoming his initial problems.

“I am very happy in that role. We train a lot in that position, and was happy with it. I was feeling better and better in games. I got more confidence from the games. I feel it is my natural position, even though I was playing out wide for Newcastle. From when I started playing football, my position was as a central midfielder. It is where I feel more comfortable. For different reasons managers put me on the side. I feel more confident in the middle, and I know exactly what I have to do. For me it is more easy. I hope to improve and be a better player, but for now I am happy. I just need to keeping working on every training session.”

He also spoke about a difficult first year with us in the wider interview that’s available on the above link and it does make for an interesting read.
