Many Tottenham Hotspur fans were furious with defender Kyle Walker-Peters after recent comments he made about his time under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.
Speaking on Southampton’s official website, Walker-Peters claimed that he would still be at Tottenham if Pochettino was still in charge, despite only appearing four times under him. He added that Mourinho did not give him the opportunity and thought that he should have got some game time under his belt.
The 22-year-old made his debut for Tottenham under the former Spurs manager and has since racked up 24 appearances for the Lilywhites. This season, he has only managed five outings and has been loaned out to the Saints until the end of the season.
Because of this, supporters were not impressed with Walker-Peters’ comments and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “simply wasn’t good enough”, while another described him as “Championship at best”.
Kyle, unfortunately you didn’t do enough to deserve starts

Because Jose realized KWP simply wasnt good enough and Aurier was better, something that Poch simply didnt see/come to terms with

The fact is that KWP is not good enough for Spurs.

Although he does show some potential, he just isn’t at the level we need at the moment. I think Mourinho was spot on sending him on loan. Especially to a perm club https://t.co/yHUtMd9qrs
