Reschke Would Turn Down £27m Spurs Bid

|

Recent reports by German tabloid Bild have suggested that we have been scouting Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard.

The publication said earlier this week that we had a representative in the stands watching the Bundesliga club`s clash against Cologne a couple of weeks ago. Responding to the speculation, the team`s sporting director Michael Reschke said he would even reject a ?30m (£27m) offer for the centre back if they receive a bid in the summer:

‘If in the summer a club believes they can sign him for a 30 million euro transfer fee, this club would be wrong. We would not even open the door for a conversation. Benjamin is at the heart of our team. And we definitely want to see him wearing the VfB shirt next season.’

We are apparently not the only team interested in the France international. Bild say Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also keeping tabs on the 21 year old`s progress.

From the sound of things it looks as though we would have to match the amount we spent on Davinson Sanchez last summer. He certainly looks like a prospect, and would be one for the future, but as I`ve said previously, I want to see us bring in a more experienced centre half if we do try and sign one at the end of the season, especially if we do allow Toby to leave.
