Report: Tottenham could miss out £40m transfer-target, Juventus may be to blame

|

According to the Daily Express, Tottenham could miss out on Ryan Sessegnon this summer as Juventus are keen to make a bid for the Fulham midfielder. Sessegnon is expected to leave the Cottagers after their relegation from the Premier League, but his next destination is unknown.

Tottenham are one of many clubs being credited with an interest, but they were believed to be leading the race. Spurs being a London club and Mauricio Pochettino successfully developing homegrown talent could have lured Sessegnon in. Juventus are trying to hijack any deal, however.

The Italian giants have already sign Aaron Ramsey for next season and have their sights set on another British talent. The Express say they will make a summer bid, but whether it matches the £40m asking price remains to be seen. Sessegnon could be a replacement for Alex Sandro who continues to be linked with a move away from Juventus.

Juve will been keen to keep their energetic and dynamic left-back, but Sessegnon might be a consolation prize. They recently won a record eighth consecutive Serie A title and have Cristiano Ronaldo in the squad so it’s not hard to see why players would consider a move to Turin.

Sessegnon will have a difficult decision to make this summer, however, as he’ll be inundated with offers.
