Report: Spurs eye PL hotshot with more saves than Alisson and Ederson in 19/20 as Lloris’ heir

Tottenham have set their sights on Bournemouth hotshot Aaron Ramsdale as a potential summer signing, as well as an heir to Hugo Lloris at the club.

The Daily Mail report that Spurs, as well as Chelsea, have included the England youth international on their list of goalkeepers to target in the upcoming transfer window with the 21-year-old asserting himself as Eddie Howe’s first-choice shot-stopper this season, having played in all but one Premier League game this campaign.

The former Sheffield United prospect has impressed for the Cherries, despite the south coast club’s league position, with Ramsdale managing more saves this league season than the likes of Liverpool star Alisson Becker (45) and Manchester City’s Ederson (50), with only Newcastle’s Martin Dubravka (117) and Arsenal’s Bernd Leno (104) managing more than the young Englishman (102).

Should Tottenham replace Hugo Lloris?

Yes

No

Tottenham are reportedly set to go big on new signings in the summer transfer window, with Jose Mourinho keen to improve the quality of his squad and refresh the personnel of the team, and club captain Lloris could be one of the big-name stars set to be replaced by the Portuguese manager.

The France national team skipper missed a good chunk of the season after suffering a horrific arm injury against Brighton in October, with the 33-year-old keeper looking rusty ever since his return to the first-team, with Lloris being at fault for two of Tottenham’s goal on Tuesday night as Spurs crashed out of the Champions League.

Despite Ramsdale’s inexperience in the Premier League compared to what Lloris has accomplished, the England youngster could be a suitable heir to the current Tottenham number one, with the 21-year-old impressing for a Bournemouth side that are currently flirting with relegation from the English top-flight.
