Spurs aim to return to winning ways with a trip to the AMEX stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in tomorrow’s late kick-off, 5.30 PM BST.
Curiously enough, although this will be our fifth away league match so far this season, this is only our second Premiership fixture outside of London, the last one being our victory over Nottingham Forest in August. Indeed, that match remains our only away victory in all competitions so far this season.
In recent years, we’ve endured mixed fortunes at the AMEX, losing two of our last three trips there, and despite winning the corresponding fixture 7 months ago, Brighton won the last encounter between the two sides a month later.
They will be looking to record successive competitive victories over Spurs for the first-time in their history, and will very much fancy their chances given the start they’ve made to the season.
Indeed, Roberto de Zerbi’s side boast the league’s second-best defence and have only lost once this season; they will therefore present stern opponents, but then again, isn’t everyone in this division a ‘stern opponent’?
Injury-wise, nothing has changed from our end, and it is likely that we will be unable to call on the services of Lucas Moura and Dejan Kukusevski once again, with Emerson Royal commencing his three match suspension this weekend. Aside from his replacement, I don’t expect many changes to the starting XI.
For Brighton, Enock Mwepu misses out with illness and long-term absentee Jakub Moder also remains out.
