Premier League Spondulix – Who Gets What?

Tottenham Hotspur are guaranteed to finish the 2016/17 Premier League season as runners up, but how will the record £399million merit money aka spondulix be divided up?

With the new bumper television deal and overall when compared to last season, Sunderland in bottom spot likely to pick up well within the region of what Arsenal picked up last season – which came to just under £101million based on merit money and facility fees for live games – clearly the financial rewards on display mean even the final game of the year can make a telling difference to sides if they can eek out that extra place higher in the table.

As we know Chelsea lifted the Premier League crown this year and Sunderland, Middlesbrough and finally Hull City sealed their return to the Championships but plenty have a lot still to play for.

The calculations for the range of money that remains available to pocket was undertaken by Talksport and were correct prior to Tuesday evenings fixtures, so with that wriggle room in place, errors are their own.

In any event though with it presumed there’s nothing to play for on the final day when the title and relegation spots are already confirmed, clearly some clubs have a lot to play for.
