Pochettino Waits On One Spurs Player As He Gives An Injury Update Ahead Of Ajax

|

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to put weekend disappointment to West Ham United behind them as we continue to recover properly after a more lacklustre defeat based on our more usual standards in the Premier League campaign of 2018/19.

With injuries hitting and the players looking leggy after our recent run of fixtures, on a motivation front a Champions League Semi-Final against an impressive, but not invincible, Ajax side needs little buildup.

Speaking to Football London following our defeat at the weekend, manager Mauricio Pochettino gave an injury update with thoughts turning to what kind of team he can put out at White Hart Lane on Tuesday evening.

With our longer term injuries known, the update centered more around Jan Vertonghen, Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks as the three of them missed out for Saturday’s fixture and I think his words can be described as the good, potentially bad, and maybe ugly.

“Vertonghen for sure, Sissoko, I don’t know we will have to assess tomorrow. I think Harry Winks no.”

We’ll have to keep our fingers crossed on Sissoko given the season he’s had, but at least if Vertonghen comes back his experience should certainly play in our favour.
