Pochettino Confirms Key Spurs Man Should Return For Ajax On Wednesday

|

Following on from Tottenham Hotspur’s seriously disappointing Saturday as we lost to Bournemouth at Dean Court, manager Mauricio Pochettino did have some good news as we turn our attentions to the Champions League Semi-Final second leg against Ajax this coming Wednesday.

With Bournemouth being a disappointment on a number of levels, a failure to take advantage of being on top in the first half, failure to secure our Champions League place for next season, the two red cards for Son Heung-Min and Juan Foyth that I believe sees both of them out of Everton and our opening two games next campaign – let alone it being the worst possible preparation for Ajax having to play 40 minutes with only nine men, there is a small sliver of hope.

Speaking to Football London following the game with Jan Vertonghen understandably left out of this one, Poch was hugely confident that he would return in midweek.

“We’ll see, we hope yes. He was training well yesterday, I think he can be available.”
