Opinion: Tottenham won’t sell in-form 27-year-old to Juventus despite reports

|

Heung-min Son is enjoying a fantastic start to the season on a personal note, scoring and creating eight goals in 12 games in all competitions, and it appears he’s now the subject of interest from sides in the Serie A.

According to Neil Fissler of the Express, Juventus and Napoli are keen on the 27-year-old. It’s hard to see Tottenham letting their top-performer leave, however, as Son is far too valuable to Mauricio Pochettino. He’s irreplaceable.

Spurs could lose a number of first-team players in the next two transfer windows too, so it’s vital that Pochettino and Daniel Levy try to limit an exodus in January and next summer.

Son has been a terrific servant at Tottenham since his 2015-move from Bayer Leverkusen, contributing 111 goals in 200 games. He’s been nominated for the Ballon d’Or award on account of his recent form and is one of the best players in the Premier League.

Without him, Spurs would be losing 33% of their Champions League goals and 31% of their Premier League goals. No Tottenham player has more league assists than Son this season, and only Harry Kane (6) has scored more goals.
