Opinion: Tottenham may have to pay £20m and £1.4m wages to sign left-winger

According to James Nursey of the Mirror, Ryan Fraser wants to leave Bournemouth for a bigger club this summer. The 25-year-old has been linked with Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea after scoring and creating 20 goals in 36 Premier League appearances and wants to cash in on his popularity. The Metro say Fraser has a £20m asking price while Spotrac revealed he earns £1.4m-a-year/£27k-per-week.

The Scotland international has made a total of 174 appearances for Bournemouth since joining from Aberdeen in 2013, scoring and creating 50 goals. Fraser is enjoying the best form of his career this season, racking up 2993 minutes of Premier League football, making 81 chances, 22 successful dribbles (45%), 31 passes-per-game with 77% accuracy while averaging a tackle (18) or interception (21) every 77 minutes.

Fraser would improve the Tottenham squad, but the Lilywhites could have competition for his signature in the coming weeks. He admitted being flattered by Arsenal’s interest, but Chelsea might make a strong approach if they lose Eden Hazard this summer. The winger is prepared to run down his contract next year if he’s not sold, so the Cherries will have to cash in early rather than risk losing him for nothing.
