“No brainer” – Journalist claims Tottenham rivals could “live to rue” potential Mourinho move

Writing in a column for football.london, journalist Tom Victor has claimed that Tottenham’s fierce north London rivals could ‘live to rue‘ the potential signing of Queen’s Park Rangers attacker Eberechi Eze – whilst also relaying a past piece hinting that the move would be a ‘no brainer‘.

Eze, who has bagged 12 goals and eight assists over 37 Championship starts this campaign, is arguably having the season of his career so far – resulting in Spurs being linked with a £12 million swoop for the promising 21-year-old.

Should Spurs sign Eze?

No

According to WhoScored, out of QPR’s current squad, the Nigerian has also registered the most shots per game on average in the league this season whilst managing the joint-highest key passes per game ratio alongside Ryan Manning.

Indeed, the youngster seems to have turned heads with his fine form, and now journalist Victor has claimed that if we were to make a move for Eze, arch rivals Arsenal could live to regret it.

Eze was released by the Gunners academy at 13-years-old, going on to open up in an interview with the Independent surrounding his harrowing experience of being let go.

The attacking midfielder, baring all over his reaction, revealed that he cried in his room for a ‘solid week‘ despite the best intentions of his mother who consoled him.

Almost ten years on, Eze appears to be silencing his doubters with a fine season in England’s second tier, and Spurs have appeared to take notice.

Victor claims that, if manager Jose Mourinho does decide to give Eze a shot in the Premier League, Arsenal could ‘live to rue the decision‘.

Judging by his impressive stats this campaign, it may be hard to argue with his assessment.
