News: Tottenham midfielder to leave the club next summer

|

Reports from Spain are claiming that Christian Eriksen has rejected all contract offers from Tottenham Hotspur and there is nothing they can do to keep him at the club.

The Dane wanted to leave over the summer, but a move never appeared, and he has committed himself to focusing on playing his best football for his last year in London.

Eriksen is dreaming of a move to Real Madrid, and according to Marca, that dream is looking like it will become a reality, and it won’t cost Madrid a single penny either.

This is because the 27-year-old’s contract is up at the end of the season and he is quite happy to let it run down and join Real for nothing in the summer.

This decision by Eriksen is brilliant for Real Madrid because it means they do not have to negotiate with the notoriously difficult Daniel Levy.

A lot of Tottenham fans probably expected this news from Spain, and they will now have to accept that one of their star players will not be in a Spurs shirt next season.

Now that Tottenham know Eriksen’s decision they may well try to sell him in January, but it seems the only club he wants to go to is Real Madrid – who may be happy to wait till the summer.

In truth, Levy should have sorted Eriksen’s contract out ages ago, and now he will be punished for his lack of urgency.
