News: Spurs’ top target claims it wasn’t a “Nice thing” to see his name linked with teams he did not want to join

One of Tottenham’s top targets from the summer transfer window Paulo Dybala has dismissed any possibility of him leaving Juventus with an interview with Corriere Della Sera.

Dybala claimed that it was not an easy summer and that it wasn’t a nice thing to see his name linked with places and clubs that he did not want to go to.

Finally, the Argentine asserted his stance on his Juve future by insisting he wants to remain in Turin and that he is enjoying the more attacking football under Maurizio Sarri.

This interview is not good news for Spurs – as they were considering going back in for the 25-year-old in January, but Dybala is starting to feature in Sarri’s plans more and scored his first goal of the season in a 2-1 win over Inter Milan.

This implies that Spurs may well have missed their chance to sign Dybala.

He was, of course, close to joining Tottenham on transfer deadline day, but an issue with image rights meant Spurs missed out on him.

However, Dybala’s latest comments suggest that perhaps the deal was not as close as it was initially reported to be?

Either way, it seems that Spurs’ hopes of signing Dybala are now over – as he is fully committed to Juve.
