Despite extending his contract less than 12 months ago, Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a move away from Tottenham all season. The rumours have irked supporters throughout the campaign, but this latest report put many over the edge.
The Spurs manager was tipped to join Manchester United before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the job on a permanent basis and he was tipped to join Real Madrid before Zinedine Zidane returned as head coach. He’s now being tipped to join AC Milan….
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Milan’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis has headhunted Pochettino to replace Gennaro Gattuso. The Rosseneri’s manager still has more than two years remaining, but the report states that Pochettino would be targeted if Gattuso left before the end of his deal.
The story unsurprisingly drew a negative response from the majority of fans on social media, with many feeling the media aren’t being truthful about Pochettino’s intentions. The Tottenham boss renewed his deal until 2023 in May 2018, so why would he seek a move elsewhere?

Who would actually believe that Pochettino would coach Milan next season? This is ridiculous. #JuveMilan #ACMilan

If the 47-year-old did leave Spurs, why would he join Milan? The Rossoneri are currently fourth in Serie A and 32 points adrift of leaders Juventus. It’s been six years since Milan finished in the top-four. Roma and Atalanta are breathing down their neck as they’re only one point adrift.
