With another dull and pointless international break coming to an end for Tottenham Hotspur fans, the Premier League in particular now have to work out how to bubble the players again given the positive Covid tests we’ve seen from players coming out of their bubbles to line the pockets of the domestic authorities and of course, UEFA.
With the proper game back, if we can call it that, Spurs are set to host Pep Guardiola’s struggling Manchester City side this Saturday and everyone will be hoping for another White Hart Lane based three points to keep our positive start to the 2020/21 campaign going.
If results go our way in this weekends round of fixtures, we could even top the table!
Having paid little to no attention to football for the last couple of weeks, I’ve no idea where we are on injuries but that will become clear on Thursday or Friday when Jose Mourinho addresses the press but according to PhysioRoom we have five doubts with Erik Lamela, Tanguy Ndombele, Steven Bergwijn and Japhet Tanganga all set for late fitness tests for a possible Saturday return – but Matt Doherty is out as he’s self isolating.
We shall see who is fit and ready for battle.

Hi folks
Yes HT I thought that was the case ref a rebound, but wasn’t sure. Thanks folks for clearing those up.
Saw the Vids football is a “funny old game” to quote a legend. 🙂
I think we could see a raft of changes for Thursday, some tactical, some forced.
But I can certainly see either Dave or Davies as CDM, Bale should start and hopefully Dele will get a run out.

My apologies all for when all my ‘failed’ posts do eventually appear..
Sorry HT, the spam filter caught the links for some bizarre reason and I’m only just around.
Check this peno shoot out from MLS,

That was crazy, 123… LOL
I couldn’t believe it either HT.
It could all change if the new head of football at FIFA (a Frenchman who managed an insignificant club in north London for a few years) has his way.
Part of the new rules he’d like to introduce is the ability for a player to play a free kick to himself. I am then assuming that if the rule is implemented, it would also allow a player to score a penalty rebound off the goal frame.
I saw dele today on BBC… playing indoor cricket at hotspur way. He did a brilliant catch via his foot by flicking the ball up. He then posted on the instagramme video cool sunglasses on his head. 🙂

Maybe he’s preparing for the (possible) sparkle coming from our trophy cabinet.
But yeah it was good to see the guys having a bit of fun and banter.
Did he need the sun glasses, or is he getting caught up in the superstar bit again.
😎
Just read a post from “Spurs Web” won’t bore with the link, about JM trying to build a connection with Spurs fans.
Just thinking, the way he initially came in to replace a much loved manager some of the tactics used to scrape through games last season, and the general dislike or at best apathy toward JM.
Has the lack of crowd presence actually been a help to JM and allowed him to grind out results, without the baying of disgruntled fans, in order to get the players into his methods tactics and subsequent good results with inevitable backing of many fans.
Now I would argue that with (hopefully) fans returning next month he will see a fair ammont of fan support. Given our results and league position. Even if we aren’t playing “the Spurs way”.
