Kane to stay at Spurs for the rest of his career?

|

Journalist David Ornstein has stated that there are some of his Spurs contacts who believe Kane will still remain at Spurs for the rest of his career, contradicting other reports in the last week or so that are suggesting the England captain wants to leave in search of trophies.

Ornstein is one of the many journalists who believes or has believed in the past that Kane wants to leave the club – but today’s revelation will reassure us Spurs fans who are desperate for our hero to stay.

In 27 Premier League games this season, Kane has scored 17 goals while also adding 13 assists to his personal stat-line which will have caught the eye of the top clubs in Europe.

But with the 27-year-old just 100 goals away from equalling Alan Shearer’s record for most Premier League goals scored, it is likely that should Kane leave Spurs, he won’t leave England – and both Manchester clubs would likely be the front-runners for his signature.

One thing for sure is Kane’s unquestionable love for Tottenham, so Chelsea fans can stop licking their lips because we all know that will never happen.

What we all are obviously worried about though is the potential exit in general and the only thing that could stop the rumours from circulating is a consistent flow of trophies starting with the League Cup in April.

Should the League Cup come back to North London, the next goal needs to be Champions League football, and then next season a solid campaign in Europe along with either the FA Cup or the League Cup again and another high finish in the league.

The year after that, a title challenge is an absolute must – otherwise the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon and Heung-Min Son will all be heavily linked with transfers out too, as well as Kane once again, and that time it will be much more difficult to stop.

Who should replace Kane if he leaves in the Summer?

Paulo Dybala has been a target for Spurs for a long time, while Dane Scarlett and Troy Parrott are still young and full of potential and are ‘no-risk’ options having come from the academy and have contracts with low wages.

Meanwhile, Carlos Vinicius is supposedly keen to remain at the club beyond his loan deal and Daniel Levy is willing to negotiate a deal with Benfica, but not willing to pay much more than £20 million, making any deal difficult.

The Daily Express have suggested that Sergio Aguero, Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings will all be on the shortlist to replace Kane should he leave – but all three deals are likely to be expensive.

Our dream pick, however, is Real Sociedad hitman Alexander Isak, who at just 21-years-old, already has 21 goals in the La Liga and has earned comparisons to compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Standing at 6ft4, the Swede, who was born to Eritrean parents, has super physical attributes for someone of that height and just like Kane, has the ability to strike the ball from distance, dribble out of trouble and pick a cute pass.

With a market value of £27 million according to TransferMarkt, it is possible that Isak will be available for around £45-50 million, but the young striker does have a release clause for 70 million euros, which Barcelona have already pondered paying.
