Kane says he’s not bothered by transfer speculation

Harry Kane has given Spurs fans a glimmer of hope that he will stay this summer, admitting that he hasn’t even thought about his future – as England prepare for their European Championships Round of 16 clash with Germany on Tuesday.

Speculation has been mounting over the past few weeks, with Manchester City desperate to sign the striker, but despite all the rumours, his focus remains completely on the national team.

“It doesn’t really bother me about the outside noise,” said Kane.

“When I’m here I’m with the boys, I try to help the boys, be a leader in the team.”

Kane has also come under heavy criticism from critics for not offering much in attack, and many have claimed he looks unfit – but the striker has every confidence within himself that the goals will soon flow again.

“I feel like it’s one of them where if you’re not scoring as a striker, people look for every little angle why you’re not scoring and that’s probably the case in this tournament so far,” said Kane.

“But like I said, as long as I’m focused, I’ve got the self-belief I have, I’m not worried about anyone else.”

Following on from England teammate Declan Rice, Kane has also admitted that he is not reading anything in the media, while also confirming he hasn’t spoke at all to the club about his future.

“I have good luck messages and things like that but nothing to do with the personal stuff with the club really,” said Kane.

“If I’m totally honest I don’t really read anything, no media.

“The most important thing is about us as a group and us a staff and as a nation and when you are in these tournament modes, sometimes it’s easy to get caught away with other stuff but the experience I’ve had in the last few tournaments, is just to focus on this and do what you can in the moment and leave no regrets.”

England will need Kane’s goals on Tuesday, as they seek qualification to the quarter-finals but face tough opposition in Germany. If the midfield behind him create him chances, he will score.
