Jose Mourinho’s opening gambit at Tottenham Hotspur ended with a run of three victories on Wednesday evening as we fell to a poor defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Jose’s return didn’t exactly go to plan and although he received a reasonable welcome back from their fans, he would’ve been concerned with what he saw from Spurs – especially defensively again and there are plenty of attitude and arrogance questions doing the rounds after the performance.
Now though, we turn our heads quickly to Saturday’s clash with Burnley back on White Hart Lane soil and Jose won’t be the only one demanding a reaction and plenty of improvement given we have now slipped back to eighth in the Premier League table.
For the optimistic, at least Dele Alli continued his own improvement with another strike on goal, we just need a few more to step up to the plate – or be jettisoned in January for better and more reliable options moving forward – but then we talk about money and it doesn’t sound like Daniel Levy has changed his spots.
