Many Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been offering mixed takes on social media following reports by Gianluca Di Marzio, claiming Inter Milan could offer Milan Skriniar in a swap deal for Tanguy Ndombele.
Inter have held a long-standing interest in Ndombele and sounded out the potential of a transfer during the midfielder’s time at Olympique Lyonnais, whom Spurs signed him from for a club-record £54million last summer.
Ndombele’s debut year in England has not gone to plan, however, with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho slamming the Frenchman for the time it has taken the 23-year-old to adapt to life in the Premier League.
The Longjumeau-born midfielder started just 12 top-flight fixtures during his first season in north London, while making a further nine outings off the bench and providing two goals and two assists – Ndombele’s two goals came during the first seven games of the term.
Inter are believed to now be working on a deal to take Ndombele to Italy and have entered into negotiations with Spurs, in which Skriniar’s name has been mentioned for a possible exchange deal.
Recent reports have also suggested Ndombele has decided he wishes to leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window and that the midfielder is keen to complete a move to Inter.
Tottenham would have a few hurdles to overcome if they are to sign Skriniar, as it is noted that the north London side are having a hard time meeting the £43.2m-rated centre-half’s wage demands.
Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy is also questioning whether there are benefits to selling Ndombele already having invested so much in the Frenchman to now admit the move was a mistake.
Plenty of Tottenham fans on social media hope Levy decides that it would be in the club’s best interest to keep Ndombele, no matter how good of a centre-back Skriniar is.

Skriniar is an insane defender but I don’t want to see Ndombele go. Sonny almost left after his first season! Just takes time https://t.co/Oh27aJ05ts

Other Spurs supporters would argue the exact opposite and believe the chance to sign Skriniar and offload Ndombele is one Levy simply must take.
That’s actually win win all round no lie. Jheeze https://t.co/J1NXiPsX66

Honestly, if the deal includes Skriniar, I will only cry just for like a week tops, cause he’s pretty damn good

Honestly, I’d take Skriniar and Brozovic for Ndombele https://t.co/lABWL67gvE

There are a few who believe Skriniar is only the starting point of negotiations, however, as Mourinho needs more than a new centre-back if he is to take Spurs to the next level.
Skriniar and £25m

My only concern with this straight swap is that we are Leaving ourselves short of funds to find an equally quality replacement. Ideally we want Skriniar and £20-30m.
