Some Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on social media to reports by the Mirror, claiming Tanguy Ndombele wants to join Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.
It is alleged Ndombele is unhappy in north London and wishes to leave Spurs a year after his club-record £55million arrival from Olympique Lyonnais, and could be offered an escape route by Inter Milan.
Nerazzurri boss Antonio Conte is a fan of the French midfielder and believes his side could tempt Spurs with a swap deal including Milan Skriniar, who Jose Mourinho is understood to be an admirer of.
But Spurs are refusing to give up on Ndombele just yet as there is a belief that Ndombele can follow in the footsteps of Heung-Min Son and Moussa Sissoko in going from initial transfer flops wanting moves away to become key members of the first-team.
Mourinho has also previously said that Ndombele can take inspiration from Luka Modric, who was voted La Liga’s worst signing following his move to Spain from Spurs in 2012 but went on to become a four-time Champions League winner.
Barcelona have also been linked with interest in a summer transfer for Ndombele and would similarly look to sign the Longjumeau-born midfielder in a part-exchange deal, despite seeing an approach already rebuffed.
Yet claims that Ndombele wants to leave north London have not sat well with large corners of the Tottenham fanbase who have endured his struggles this season, with many taking to social media urging their side to sell the 23-year-old if he truly wants to leave.
Ndombele made 29 appearances across all competitions, starting 17 times while providing two goals and four assists.
If it’s true that he wants the move, it shows where his head is at and why he’s been playing within himself.

Let him go if he wants to. We don’t need a summer of uncertainties with some of our players like the last one. I want to concentrate on players who really want to play for the shirt. I’m not even mad 🤷🏾♂️

There are still a few Tottenham supporters who share Mourinho and Spurs’ belief that Ndombele can still be a success in north London, and vividly argue that the France international should be kept at all costs this summer.
If we sell him I think it will be a massive mistake the guy ozzes class give him time will be world-class COYS https://t.co/4gaRyYXIVW

If he leaves he’s a Premier League flop. If he stays and works hard he can be a Premier League great. I know which one I’d prefer to be.

As I wrote a few weeks ago, we could see this coming for some time. Mourinho alienated the lad from the get go. this didn’t have to get to this point. Keep Ndombele and toos José Mourinho. One’s a has-been and the other a yet-to-be. But this lad has shown sparks of being really really good. Send José back to Milan. he knows the place. Keep Ndombele in N17. But the lad made clear weeks ago that he was unhappy with JM. Fed up. JM has had this effect of other young players in the last few years. He’s a spent force. Send him packing. In fact, send him without bothering with the packing.
