“If It’s In England, Why Not Tottenham” – Sissoko Suggests A Possible Spurs Target

|

Resurgent Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko can almost do no wrong following the uplift in his personal form and how important he has become for manager Mauricio Pochettino and now he’s even providing transfer target advice and he’s backed the club to do a deal for highly rated Lille striker Nicolas Pepe.

The 23-year-old Ivorian moved to Ligue 1 side Lille for an undisclosed fee from Angers back in the summer of 2017 and according to Soccerbase he now boasts 37 goals in 68 starting appearances and six substitute showings for the side.

39 of those appearances have come in the 2018/19 campaign, as have 23 goals with a further 11 assists, so it’s been a massive breakthrough year for the young international.

It’s not the first time he’s been linked with Spurs, as we’ve featured alongside the usual Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern Munich speculation on the rumour mill, but Sissoko has taken it to a new level recently.

With Lille confirming he will be sold before the transfer window slams shut, he told Canal Football Club (via Le 10 Sport that he saw no reason why he couldn’t arrive at Spurs if we so chose.

“I think he has the qualities for England. He has already demonstrated his full potential with Angers, this year he confirmed with Lille, what he does is really exceptional. I do not know where he’ll go, but I wish him the best in his future club, and if it’s in England, why not Tottenham?”
