“I Need To Focus On Here And To Do More For The Team” – Spurs Man Gives The Message We All Wanted To Hear

|

With speculation rearing its head in recent weeks about Bayern Munich apparently sniffing around the services of Son Heung-min, the player himself has now stated he has no desire to move on from Tottenham Hotspur.

Having more than played his part in our growth as a club on the pitch in recent years, the 26-year-old has just helped South Korea lift the Asian Games trophy as well but despite signing a new five-year deal with us over the summer, some sections of the media claimed the Bundesliga giants were very interested in adding him to their playing staff come the opening of the January window.

Having been a key player for manager Mauricio Pochettino since his arrival in 2015, his goal record and on-pitch contribution speaks for itself as he’s found the back of the net 47 times in 144 appearances.

Speaking to Goal recently, he explained.

“I recently renewed my contract with Tottenham, and I believe I need to focus on here to do more for the team. I’m happy at Tottenham.”

Such a simple statement but one that will certainly be well received within the fan base.

To be honest, given the man’s performances for us and especially now that military service is off the table with the trophy win meaning exemption for him, we’ll have to get used to the rumour mill including him regularly even if it is total invention.
