“Has To Give Us A Boost” – Pochettino Has “No Doubt” About Champions League Involvement For Spurs

|

With Tottenham Hotspur suffering a wobble in form over the last month and a bit with games and results turning against us, manager Mauricio Pochettino has full faith that the first team squad will secure Champions League football for the campaign of 2019/20.

With our points advantage in third place being scrubbed out with the wobble, Arsenal are now two points ahead, Manchester United are level and Chelsea are breathing down our neck as well being only a point behind.

With other clubs stuttering earlier in the campaign as we built up the advantage, despite the frustration amongst fans, they were always going to catch up, as we and when, we stuttered. The main frustration I think is the expected wobble (Harry Kane/Dele Alli injuries) didn’t happen when most thought it would.

With all eyes on Wednesday night’s game at the new White Hart Lane against Crystal Palace, Poch remains confident that given our second half showing against Liverpool, our wobble is now over and the players will get themselves back on a run of positive results.

Speaking to the BBC during the build up to the game, he insisted he had ‘no doubt’ that we would qualify for the Champions League – even though by the time this piece goes live we could’ve dropped out of the top four.

“We have seven games left, five here, and that has to give us a boost. The best stadium in the world must play in the Champions League. It will be a shame not to be in the next Champions League. We are going to fight. I have no doubt we will be in the Champions League next season. It’s in our hands; it’s an exciting moment for us.”

With many fans feeling that a boost in atmosphere and a return to home soil would give the players a boost, we just have to take the positives from the last match and ensure we build on them now as the fans will certainly be up for it.
