Spurs Match Zone

Further friendly details emerge

After news emerged yesterday confirming details of Tottenham Hotspur taking on Scottish side Motherwell behind closed doors in a friendly in Hotspur Way tomorrow at 1 PM BST, further details of another friendly have emerged as Spurs step up their post-World Cup preparations.

Indeed, Tottenham have today confirmed that the first-team will take on Ligue Un outfit OGC Nice on Wednesday 21st December at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in what has been officially labelled an “exhibition match”, with kick-off being 7 PM BST.

The match against Nice will be Spurs’ last fixture before Premier League action resumes on Boxing Day, where a trip to Brentford lies in store for Antonio Conte’s men.

By then, Spurs will probably be able to count on the likes of Pierre Emile-Hojberg, Pape Matar Sarr and Heung-Min Son, who will have had enough rest to come back into the side by the time the French side visit N17.

Spurs still have Hugo Lloris, Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Cristian Romero, and Richarlison on duty in Qatar, and the stage of the World Cup in which these players’ respective nations get knocked out will determine their return, so it remains to be seen who Antonio Conte will be able to call on for the visit of the French outfit in a couple of weeks’ time.

However, what’s for certain is that Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies will be out after picking up injuries in Qatar with their respective nations.

Both matches will be available to watch on Spurs’ streaming service ‘SPURSPLAY’, while fans will be able to purchase tickets for the Nice match in a fortnight.
