Berbatov is involved in pre-season training and looking forward to the coming season.

The Bulgarian international scored 21 goals in 34 matches for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last season – the second highest goalscorer in the league.

Berbatov: ‘I am in a hotel until I find somewhere to live. This is a small kind of problem, I will find somewhere to live, but the most important thing to me is to play and score goals.

‘I am finding it good, it is training again, but I like that. It is hard, but I prefer it like that – if you train hard you can play well.

‘I’ve met the guys – I will meet the rest when they come back from vacation – and they have all been very good with me.

‘I was six years in Germany and I now come to a new country with new people. I know the language and that will help me a lot, but everything is new for me and I will quickly get used to it.

‘I hope I can play like I played at Leverkusen.’
