Explained: How much Tottenham-target could cost, his wage demands – Hugo Lloris replacement?

|

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are interested in Thomas Strakosha, potentially as a replacement for Hugo Lloris who has been error-prone between the sticks for some time. The Lazio goalkeeper has conceded 34 goals in 32 games in all competitions this season and has nine clean sheets to his name, but how much would he cost Spurs? How much are his wage demands?

Strakosha is valued by CIES at £25.1m and currently earns £16.5K-per-week, according to Capology. The 23-year-old has been Lazio’s No.1 shot-stopper since the 2016/17 season so he won’t come cheap, but the lure of Champions League might be what convinces him to leave the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio only made the Europa League last season and were knocked out in the last-16 in February. This season, they’re currently eighth in Serie A with 13 games remaining so they may not have any type of European football for Strakosha.

With Michel Vorm out of contract this summer, it would make sense for Tottenham to be looking at a new goalkeeper. If Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t believe Paulo Gazzaniga can permanently replace Lloris, then he’ll be forced to sign a new No.1.  That could be Strakosha when the season comes to a close.
