Tottenham reserve striker Simon Dawkins has joined Leyton Orient on loan until January.

The 20 year played in 14 of the reserves 18 games last season, scoring twice and was called up for the first team squad for the trip UEFA Cup game against Anorthosis Famagusta in October when Martin Jol was still in charge.

A loan move of a ‘Spurs reserve striker’ to Orient has been talked about for several weeks, with Dawkins the only logical choice this was widely expected and follows on from Orient taking Charlie Daniels and Andy Barcham (pictured)to Brisbane Road last season.

Though this will give the boy valuable first team experience he still appears to be a very long way from getting beyond the reserve team for Spurs and I feel he will ultimately move on and this is more a case of putting him in the shop window than preparing him for a bright future at Tottenham..
