It will come as no surprise to read in today’s media that Tottenham are willing to allow Dimitar Berbatov to join a European team for a cheaper price than an English one.
This has been a much talked about tactic, ever since the Bulgarian was linked with moves away from White Hart Lane.
Such is Spurs desperation to stop Berbatov coming back to bite us on the bum, they are willing to lose up to £5 million to ease a move to such exotic locations as Milan or Barcelona.
Is this something Sir Alex Ferguson would do? He already has in refusing to sell Gabriel Heinze to Liverpool last summer, preferring to sell him to Madrid, rather than see him line up against them..
Up until recently I was in two minds about this policy. The fact we would lose one of the games great players from our league would obviously be a huge miss as far as I was concerned.
This coupled with the fact that I really don’t see United as a rival, we should be worrying about at this time, because even the most loyal Spurs fan can see we are a long, long way behind them in terms of league status.
What has changed my mind about the ‘Greatest living Bulgarian’ Moving to Old Trafford is the attitude and arrogance of Ferguson, the club and fans.
I have always quite liked United, though hardly my second team, they have always been my team of choice in the champions league. But now my attitude has hardened towards them, which makes my viewing of this seasons tournament a very pro European affair, as I don’t like Liverpool and supporting Chelsea or Arsenal is quite frankly never going to happen..
I would assume that most fans would now be with me in happily making less money on the deal, which though a little frustrating at least allows us to stick two fingers up at half of England with their Red Devil car stickers and feeble excuses for supporting a team 200 miles away…
Plus more importantly I have never forgiven them for stealing our song, It is GLORY GLORY TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR! You thieving Manc ********!!!!!
