Davinson Sanchez returned to the starting lineup in Tottenham’s 6-2 win over Everton and came away with praise from some supporters. The 22-year-old had missed nine games in all competitions due to a hamstring injury picked up against Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 3 but has fully recovered and was deemed fit enough to start on Sunday at Goodison Park.
Everton scored first against Tottenham, with Theo Walcott opening the scoring in the 21st minute, but their second goal was scant consolation. Gylfi Sigurdsson made it 2-4 minutes after the restart before Spurs scored two more goals in the second half to put the game beyond doubt. Sanchez operated alongside Toby Alderweireld and made two tackles, three interceptions and three clearances in the game.
Great to have you patrolling the pitch again Davinson!

The Colombian international made 64 passes with an 87.5% pass completion ratio while winning three aerial duels. Sanchez’s return is great news for Mauricio Pochettino as it gives him a more experienced option to Juan Foyth in Jan Vertonghen’s absence. Sunday’s win over Everton saw Tottenham solidify third-place in the Premier League, going five points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea and within touching distance of second-placed Manchester City.
