3 Shots, 4 Key Passes & Second Most Touches Sees Spurs Man Take MotM

Having drawn a line under our recent defeats with a point against Arsenal, Tottenham went one better and put in an amazing rearguard action against Borussia Dortmund to get back to winning ways so hopes were high that we’d continue that in the Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday.

Making the trip to St Mary’s Stadium, those hopes certainly looked like coming true as Harry Kane’s effort in the first half to give us a 1-0 advantage was sure to be built upon. The score at halftime should’ve been far greater given our dominance of the game.

Things turned in the second half and the hosts improved and we backed off and typically ended up losing 2-1.

Statistics website Whoscored noted how we fell off in the second 45 and despite our early control, only had three players with seven-plus scores.

Plenty of fans will disagree with Eriksen as Man of the Match, but having gained a score of 7.72, he was followed by Harry Kane (7.63), Kyle Walker-Peters (7.32), Dele Alli (6.83) and Lucas Moura (6.79).

Scrub this one off quickly and move on.
