3 Shots, 1 Key Pass & Joint Most Touches Hands Spurs International MotM

Tuesday evening didn’t feel like it was going to be a great night for Tottenham Hotspur fans as we faced Chelsea in the fourth round of the EFL Cup – we knew there would be changes to the starting line up given our ridiculous turnaround in fixtures at this moment in time.

Manager Jose Mourinho could’ve tweaked things a little more but we did see the return of Japhet Tanganga and summer signing Sergio Reguilon made his debut (and an impressive one at that as he built himself into the game).

Having fallen behind early on, and we were poor, they couldn’t get a second and in the final 45 we turned the game around and pretty much ended up on top. Our leveller came through Erik Lamela with minutes left on the clock and penalties it was.

We buried all of ours and Mason Mount missed their fifth effort – so through we went.

Statistics website Whoscored had us edge it in the player ratings, but their star man went to Agentine Lamela with a rating of 8.28.

Did Lamela Tick Your MotM Box?

Erik Lamela

Sergio Reguilon

Tanguy Ndombele

Eric Dier

Completing the top five were debutant Sergio Reguilon (7.98), Tanguy Ndombele (7.07), Eric Dier (7.04) and Serge Aurier (6.98).

An unexpected victory all things considered, but welcome none-the-less…on to Maccabi Haifa after a coffee and maybe a 30 minute nap!
