It’s easy to see why Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min took most Man of the Match votes following Saturday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.
Having opened his account for the year in the game, and helped himself to a brace before we’d even reached minute 25 in the match, he was the shoe-in for statistics website Whoscored and Spurs’ social media outlets made him their pick as well.

Reacting to the confirmation of the 27-year-old’s win, plenty of fans felt that given Serge Aurier’s impact in the game, given his was his first appearance of the year, that he would’ve been an alternative worthy winner on the day.

For me, given our overall performance in the game, I think we should simply take the positives that there were a few players who, for different reasons, could’ve lifted the gong – we just have to hope that continues to be true as the rest of the season progresses, and there’s plenty of points left to play for.
