World Cup Round-Up: Spurs duo set to battle it out for World Cup crown

|

As we approach the end of the World Cup, I thought it would only be right to carry on our tradition here at VitalSpurs and take a look at how Tottenham’s international stars are getting on.

Last night saw the last of the semi-finals with Hugo Lloris‘ France defeat a defiant Morocco 2-0, to book their place in there second consecutive World Cup final. Morocco impressed in the game despite losing, calling Spurs shotstopper Lloris into action numerous times. However, the reigning champions just had to much quality for the North African’s with goals from Theo Hernandez and Spurs transfer target Randal Kolo Muani enough for Les Bleus to secure the win.

France will now meet South American giants Argentina in the final, who of course have Cristian Romero leading there backline. Romero and his side comfortably defeated Croatia 3-0, meaning they now have the 3rd joint most World Cup final appearances. Spurs stalwart Romero was not troubled the majority of the game, with Croatia failing to really lay a glove on Argentina. Spurs wing-back Ivan Perisic tried to make an impact for Croatia, mustering up three shots for his side but none of those really tested Emiliano Martinez.

So with France and Argentina set to battle it out on the biggest stage of them all, it means at least one Spurs player will be heading back to North London with a World Cup winners medal.

Spurs fans, who do you think will win?
