With three Premier League wins from three sitting Tottenham Hotspur sit joint top of the table in the season of 2018/19 it all begins again on Sunday as we face a side we’re tied with – Watford.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino takes his first-team group to Vicarage Road for the game this weekend and it could be an enthralling encounter given how both sides have started this season.

We have the slightly better goal difference going into the tie which is an advantage given the applicable sides we’ve faced and we have a massive confidence boost from victory over Manchester United. The Hornets took victory over Reading in the EFL Cup in midweek but eleven changes were made, so any element of additional tiredness won’t come into it.

The only issue for me is does Pochettino stick with Danny Rose after his first appearance of the year at Old Trafford or does he switch back to Ben Davies possibly?

Outside of that, I can’t see any changes from Monday unless an injury I’m not aware of forces his hand.

  • I’d like to see Rose again because it’s only by him getting more game time that will see him back to his best. And an all good Danny will no doubt keep Davies on his toes.

If MP sees in Rose (in training) what he said he saw last week then he may well start. If he is now looking tired as he did in the United match and his recovery was slow, then we will probably see Davies…

  • One of my concerns would be Dier from half way through last years season Dier has been more than pitiful with bad passing , loosing procession , and not aggressive enough in the air or indeed on the ground , Rose I think his best years have gone with the injuries and his depression issues and Davies is just not good enough I would play Vertonghen in that area not quite left full back and bring back Sanchez , Ali and Eriksen need to turn up they showed no commitment at all far to much day dreaming and ball watching , Aurier is not good enough the guy can`t play in the EPL he can`t come to terms with the premiership , Sissoko is another failure not good enough a very bad purchase , Dembele for the first half that’s how Pochettino would get the best from him and Lamela for the second half , Moura must be played in the exact position Pochettino played him in against UTD .

  • I suspect twist, but like HT, I’d also like to see Rose again. Away to Man Utd wasn’t the easiest fixture to throw him in and he could use some game time to regain confidence and match sharpness.

  • johnny DUCKETT, that is harsh. Auriers done quite well in the short time he’s played this season and I think your critcism of Dele and Eriksen is way OTT.

  • When I was watching the Fulham match I was thinking that Ben Davies was often just not there. Fulham were making good down our left hand side over and over, so when I saw Rose starting against Man U I thought that will be why. Rose is rusty and that wayward back pass could have cost us the match.

I prefer KWP to Aurier and never agreed with his purchase. Selling Kyle Walker and replacing from within would have been perfect
