As the dust settles on the new signing of Vincent Janssen, we now await to see just how good he will be in the English game.
There have been several Eridivsie leading scorers that have moved to the Premiership, with a couple proving outstanding successes, while some have proved to be monumental flops.
The likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy and Luis Suarez, have been outstanding successes, while others such as Pierre van Hoojidonk, Wilfred Bony and Dirk Kuyt, have been very good value, even in the short term or in the case of Kuyt, in a different role.
Others like Mateja Kerman, Alfonsi Alves and who knows Memphis Depay, have proved rot be ineffectual in the English game for whatever reason. Outside the Prem, someone like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, a supposed one time Spurs target has been excellent since moving from Holland, whilst though never winning the Ericivsie leading scorer award, Robin van Persie, wasnt too shabby a striker for either Arsenal or United.
My point is that being the leading scorer in Holland or anywhere el;se for that matter is no guarantee of success in the English game and you imagine Vincent`s learning curve will be sharp, before he is considered a quality Premiership striker.
Time will tell whether Janssen will become the next RVN or Kezman, but you would like to think that he has time on his side, but we as fans also need to have patience and understanding, should he not hit the ground running straight away…
