Champions League or UEFA Cup Better For Us ?
Last year we had nearly secured fourth spot if not for a suspicious bug on the last game of the season, when the FA (lead by someone who is funnily enough vice president at the club we were looking to keep out of the champions league) refused to postpone our game. {Editor note, lets not go down that debate road again!}
Well maybe it will be for our own good!
Honestly I think we will benefit from our slip up, I know most of you are going to disagree with me on this matter but I think Spurs in the Uefa Cup are better off than Spurs in the Champions League for next season.
Any Spurs fan will admit that we are a bit short of Champions League experience and have a squad that can’t compete with the likes of AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid so we were looking at a likely early exit, where as in the Uefa Cup we have a strong chance of reaching the semis at least.
I’m looking at the Uefa Cup as a practice stage for our squad in gaining experience in Europe and as a chance for the squad to mature in a way that if we make CL next season we will be strong enough to avoid an early exit and the disappointment of not only the fans but that of the players that any early exit brings with it.
So lets not be disappointed about last season and lets go Spurs! The great Spurs are once again in Europe and in the premiership as we are destined to return to the top with our great Martin Jol and DC.
