With ongoing Kieran Trippier speculation at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, a recent update on Atletico Madrid’s supposed interest in him included the possibility of some kind of player + cash swap for striker Angel Correa.
Report Claims Spurs Are Now In Talks With Atletico Madrid Over £25m England Fullback
It was a brief suggestion from Sky Sports and their report admitted they had no interest if that kind of deal would suit and interest Spurs, but it certainly gained some traction on social media.
I know little about the 24-year-old Argentine striker but the versatile international attacker featured 36 times in total in La Liga (20 starts) but he only returned three goals and two assists according to Whoscored.
It seems plenty of Spurs fans feel he can get back to his early promise under manager Mauricio Pochettino compared to how he’s been used by Diego Simeone, but as well as providing backup for Harry Kane, the versatility would mean he could fill in elsewhere as well, so I can see the sense in why people think it would be a good idea.
25 plus Correa? Definitely having that

we need a right back to replace trippier, and a left back to potentially replace rose if he leaves this summer. however this deal would be beneficial as i think trippier is past his prime at #thfc and he can do better i in spain and correa is very talented for his age #COYS ⚪️????

I’d take correa

Talking about the #Trippier deal… I'd be very interested in bringing in #Correa as part of the move. We need more attacking threat, and he's pretty decent. I hope it's true that he's been offered to us. #COYS #THFC

Correa makes a lot of sense. Dybala-esque foward that can play striker, No.10 and out wide. His versatility adds depth to a lot of key areas and provides competition for our whole foward line. Kills a lot of birds with one stone. #THFC #COYS

Not sure Correa would fit into Spurs, if we are buying player to improve the the squad maybe but buy to improve 1st XI then no…
