Martin Jol has told the official site about his range of emotions during the 4-3 victory against West Ham on Sunday.

The late Stalteri strike capped a fine come-back, which saw Spurs come out victorious despite being 2-0 down at half time, and 3-2 down with 5 minutes to go.

‘It was like hell, heaven, hell and heaven,’ reflected Martin at Upton Park. ‘It was an amazing English game.

‘We came back three times but in the first half we should have scored, we had many chances but the keeper was outstanding.’

An interesting point was as Jol went on to describe his lack of options on the bench, ‘It wasn’t easy because we’d used substitutes and the only weapon I had left was 17-year-old Adel Taarabt and he did exactly what I had in mind, so that was good.’

On the darker side of the Premiership, West Ham boss Alan Curbishley, who today has been told his job is safe (ha!) spoke of his side’s naivety when facing their London rivals.

‘Naive is the word, It is down to lack of confidence and mental toughness, knowing how to see a game out.

We scored three and haven’t taken anything. It’s a huge disappointment.’

Never mind Alan, there’s always next season. Enjoy Division 1.
