“We Are In A New Situation” – Eriksen’s Agent Talks ‘Huge’ Rejected Bids Amid Ongoing Speculation

|

A new day in the life of Tottenham Hotspur fans and that must naturally mean a new rumour about midfielder and Danish international Christian Eriksen.

With the rumour mill seeing the 27-year-old as a pretty permanent fixture as his contract continues to wind down and Real Madrid, in particular, are the favoured club to link him to, whether or not this is simply agent games time will tell, but at least it’s attributable and quotable.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard this week, Martin Schoots claimed that Spurs had turned down three ‘huge’ offers for his client last season as we weren’t interested in doing a deal, and Eriksen himself saw no reason to kick up a stink as he preferred to remain with us.

Naturally, the final line sort of writes itself when you’re an agent.

It’ll do nothing for the speculation but I guess most fans have already moved, or at least begun moving, to the ‘make a decision’ camp so we can bring it to an end one way or another.
