With a perfect start to Premier League life in the season of 2018/19, Tottenham Hotspur went into Sunday’s clash with Watford at Vicarage Road looking to make it four wins from four to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.
There’s no hiding it was a poor performance as they took a 2-1 victory with the goals coming in the second half of the game, and although Spurs dominated possession on the day we just didn’t do anything with it.
Watford actually managed one more shot on target than we did even though we had greater chances overall.
Certainly not the time to throw the baby out with the bathwater as it was one performance and one defeat, but nobody should need telling it wasn’t good enough and we have to be far, far better if we are to continue the dream that this might be the year for a real change in the table come next May.
If anything, maybe if any complacency had slipped in, this should slap it right back out again.
