Transfer News: Pochettino signing set to ‘push for a move’ away from Tottenham this summer

|

Tottenham fans have had an incredibly good time over the last six years, Mauricio Pochettino has taken them from fighting for a spot in the Europa League to a side who are Champions League regulars, and he’s brought in some top players along the way.

Some of the business done by Pochettino simply wouldn’t have happened had the current head coach Jose Mourinho been in charge, though, and the signing of Juan Foyth looks like one of those, as the Argentine defender just hasn’t been fancied by Mourinho and could now be set to leave.

The young former Estudiantes defender has shown signs of brilliance on his days as a Tottenham player, featuring both as a central defender in a four and three-man defence and as both a right-back and a right-wingback, yet Mourinho obviously doesn’t fancy him, seeing as the Argentine has played just 136 minutes under the new manager (Transfermarkt).

However, it now looks like Foyth could leave, and The Independent have listed him as one of their ’50 biggest potential summer deals’ (39/51), and it does look like the Argentine’s days as a Tottenham player are numbered as we edge towards the summer window.

Does Juan Foyth have a future at Tottenham?

Yes

No

The piece of Foyth states:

‘One of Mauricio Pochettino’s most highly-rated young players but he has struggled for opportunities under Jose Mourinho and is expected to push for a move away, having fallen behind 20-year-old Japhet Tanganga in the pecking order.’

He’s young and an international player. He should be given an opportunity to improve himself and show what he’s capable of before getting rid of him
