Tottenham would be crazy to miss out on exceptional talent available for £15m – Opinion

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be interested in signing Andreas Skov Olsen this summer and we feel it could be an excellent addition for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad.

According to a report by The Mirror, we are believed to be keen on the FC Nordsjaelland after a standout year for his club in Denmark’s Superliga.

Still only 19-years-old, the teenage winger managed to record a hugely impressive 26 goals in his 44 matches across all competitions last season (Transfermarkt) – truly remarkable despite being in a league.

Pochettino and Tottenham are thought to have been keeping tabs on Skov Olsen for a while now (The Sun) and it would appear they have a perfect opportunity to potentially land themselves a bargain addition that could become a hit in the future.

The report by the Mirror stated that the youngster was rated at £15million and could be available in the current transfer window as he has just 12 months left on his contract with Nordsjaelland.

He might not be a statement signing, nor may he transform the team immediately, however, he is undoubtedly a player that Pochettino would love to have in his squad and take under his wing.

For as impressive Skov Olsen has been over the last 12 months, the Denmark Under-21 international is still far from the finished product, however, the Argentine could easily work his magic with the talented individual and turn him into a world-beater over the next few years.

With Pochettino arguably in need of signing a left-footed winger, the 19-year-old would perhaps be an excellent option for him to turn to, although he is also exceptionally comfortable on his right foot as well which can take defenders (and goalkeepers) by surprise at times.

Skov Olsen has also shown he already has he has a huge degree of confidence and maturity to his game, as he is happy enough to take responsibility regarding dead-ball situations and is not scared of the pressures of taking a penalty may bring with them.

As Football Whispers detailed in their stats review of the teenager, there is plenty of promise with what he can achieve in the future. His average of 3.35 shots per match is outstanding, whilst his 5.92 touches in the opposition box per match is truly exceptional.

So, for a player that likes to play out wide, likes to get in the act and score goals for fun, has all the traits to become a star in the future under Pochettino’s guidance and could be available for a bargain £15m fee, Tottenham must surely look to bring him to the Premier League this summer.
