Tottenham won’t sign English right-winger ‘attracting Premier League attention’ – opinion

|

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Tottenham have scouted Jarrod Bowen and are being linked with a £10m move for the winger. Hull, however, have no desire to sell the Englishman who is ‘attracting the attention from Premier League clubs’ which is likely to mean he stays at the KCOM Stadium in January.

It’s unknown how much interest Tottenham have in Bowen. The club have scouts looking at a lot of players all over the world, so having representatives watching a specific individual doesn’t mean an official approach will follow.

Bowen might struggle to work his way up the pecking order too, with competition from Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-Min, Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou.

That’s not to say the 21-year-old isn’t a good player. Since joining from Hereford United in 2014, Bowen has scored and created 28 goals in 74 appearances in all competitions. He’s scored six goals and made three assists in 21 Championship games this season.

That being said, Bowen wouldn’t improve the Tottenham squad. Cardiff City and Fulham are being linked with the Championship star, so it’s surprising that Spurs also have their name in the hat. He may have a bright future ahead of him, but the chances of Mauricio Pochettino bringing Bowen to London next month are slim.
