Tottenham Reportedly Keeping Tabs On Portuguese Anchor Man

|

The Mirror have been very active in linking us with potential transfer targets recently, and the latest is Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Portuguese international has played a big role in helping the Midlands club achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.

He was linked with a number of top-flight times prior to his £16m switch to Molineux in the summer, and it is said we have been scouting the playmaker.

This campaign has seen the 21-year-old score six goals and provide four assists in 40 Championship games, but that only tells half the story.

The midfielder has been the club’s key creative force and has demonstrated the quality that made him a regular for Porto.

His switch to the Championship was mainly due to his agent Jorge Mendes, who has strong ties with Wolves’ Chinese owners.

He is yet to be tested in the top league in England though, and he would be a very different type of player to someone like Mousa Dembele, who he would likely replace.

The Belgian’s contract situation is a major concern for the club, with the player barely having 12 months remaining on his current deal. Whether Neves is being lined up as an insurance policy, it remains to be seen.
